Drink in Colour – Living Coral is the Colour of the Year 2019

For the 20th time, the Pantone Color Institute has chosen the color of the year: PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral. According to experts donates the “joyful, life-affirming coral red with golden undertones energy […] and revives in a gentle way”.

In choosing the color of the year, the institute considers color trends in the entertainment, art and film industries as well as in fashion. Also popular travel destinations and nature itself can influence the choice of the Pantone color of the year.

For trend-conscious bartenders and hobby bartenders at home, this means to start getting creative: It’s all about mixing and serving drinks in Living Coral. To inspire you, we stepped behind the bar and present you here our favorite drinks in the color of the year 2019. Have fun mixing:

Ten, Tea & Tonic

Taste: bitter, classic, herbal

50 ml Tanqueray No Ten
1 tea bag of your choice
Thomas Henry Tonic Water

GLASS: Long drink glass

Put tea bags into the glass, pour in gin and leave for about 2 minutes. Fill up with ice cubes and pour in with Thomas Henry Tonic Water.

 

Red Light District

RedLight_Ginger Ale

40 ml vodka
20 ml of fresh lime juice
60 ml cranberry nectar
Thomas Henry Ginger Ale

GLASS: Longdrink glass

Add the vodka, lime juice and cranberry syrup to the longdrink glass filled with ice. Add ginger ale elegantly.

 

Monkey’s Fruit

Taste: bitter, classic, herbaceous

40 ml Monkey 47 Black Forest Dry Gin
20 ml Campari
10 ml of Lillet Blanc
20 ml fresh lemon juice
20 ml Earl Gray syrup
Thomas Henry Ultimate Grapefruit

GLASS: Double Old Fashioned | GARNISH: grapefruit rests

Shake all ingredients except Ultimate Grapefruit. Straining on a big ice ball in a double-old-fashioned glass. Fill with Thomas Henry Ultimate Grapefruit. Add garnish. Enjoy.

 

Globetrotter

Taste: exotic, sweet

30 ml San Cosme Mezcal
10 ml Argalà Pastis
20 ml fresh lemon juice
10 ml sugar syrup
Thomas Henry Cherry Blossom Tonic

GLASS: Tumbler | GARNISH: Orange zest, Peychaud’s Bitters

 

Shake all ingredients except the Cherry Blossom Tonic on ice and strain into the glass on fresh ice. Infuse with Thomas Henry Cherry Blossom Tonic. Finally, sprinkle with five Dashes Peychaud’s Bitters and garnish with an orange zest.

El Picador

Taste: classic, fruity

50 ml Calle 23 Blanco Tequila
15 ml Cointreau
15 ml fresh lime juice
150 ml Thomas Henry Elderflower Tonic

GLASS: Longdrink Glass | GARNISH: 2 strips of red pepper

Pour all ingredients over ice cubes in the glass. Stir gently and garnish with the pepper strips.

10 ml pink grapefruit juice
Thomas Henry Elderflower Tonic

GLASS: goblet | GARNISH: edible flowers

Add gin and pink grapefruit juice over ice cubes to the guest glass.
Fill up with Thomas Henry Elderflower Tonic.

Grape Me 

Taste: fruity, sour

40 ml Henderson Gin
1 bar spoon of vanilla sugar
20 ml of fresh lime juice
Four quarters pink grapefruit
Thomas Henry Ultimate Grapefruit

GLASS: Londrink Glass | GARNISH: Pink grapefruit split

 

Lightly press the grapefruit with vanilla sugar in the guest glass. Add gin and lime juice and stir.
Add crushed ice and top up with Ultimate Grapefruit.
