It’s no easy task, conjuring a signature drink with such a radically different tonic variation. The final connector had to be the aromatic taste, combined with the distinguished acid, which made everything fall into place. Another bitter classic was needed. Thomas Henry’s brand ambassador and proven mixologist Phum Sila-Trakoon accepted this challenge and in 2018, he was saddled with the task of convincing the international bar scene of the multiple taste varieties possible when using tonic water made with genuine cold brew coffee. 

No surprise then, that he landed on Campari as his choice of spirit. The iconic liqueur, invented by Gaspare Campari in Italy in the middle of the 19th century, is full of flavour and still as good today as it was when it was invented. Even though its characteristic red chimney colour is showcased in many a classic cocktails, the Negroni, Garibaldi, Americano, or Spritz come to mind, Phum Sila-Trakoon was convinced that none of these explored the limits of mixability. Which is what he set out to do. The Red Coffee Highball is an overwhelming experience: tingling, lively, well dosed bitterness with a hint of sweetness at the same time. In other words: a match made in heaven that includes an an invigorating effect, thanks to the caffeine.
