Event Highlights in October

It’s getting a bit colder, but that doesn’t mean that our event highlights in October are getting less exciting. This October, we went to London to go to The World’s 50 Best Bars event, the Berlin Bar Convent with our own afterparty and the Berlin Food Week! Our event highlights in October:

The World’s 50 Best Bars

Why?
600 invited guests from the industry met for the ninth time in a row to rank the best bars across the globe. We attended the event as the “Official Premium Mixer Partner” and event presented our own Award.

When?
6th of October 2017

Where?
Southwark Cathedral in London

Who?
The best bartending talents from across the globe.

Highlight?
The American Bar at the Savoy Hotel in London got elected as the best bar. Phum Sila-Trakoon presented the winner of “Best New Opening”: the BlackTail bar from New York.


Bar Convent Berlin 2017

Why?
Already for the 7th time in a row, we celebrated bar culture with 370 exhibitors from 32 countries at the Bar Convent Berlin on the 10th and 11th of October 2017. During the day, 16 international top barkeepers mixed and served 8 Thomas Henry highlight creations at the Thomas Henry stand. New things were to be discovered at the Thomas Henry Innovation Lab: For the first time, selected guestes were invited to taste our new special edition, the Thomas Henry Coffee Tonic. During our workshop,  Phum and Patrick Thiele (formally a cook at Tim Raue and currently Executive Sous-Chef at the Soho House Group) presented what it means to do “contemporary drinking and eating”, how you can reuse your ingredients to be more sustainable and which aroma-combinations can be transformed to contemporary dishes. On the first evening, we celebrated the first “Thomas Henry BCB New Year’s Eve” in the Ballhaus Berlin while we invited all BCB guests once more to celebrate the “Thomas Henry BCB Closing Party” at Kitty Cheng in Berlin.

Who?
The who-is-who of the international beverage industry.

Highlight?
Among the live acts of the first ‘Thomas Henry BCB New Years Eve’ were the New-Orleans-Band Dizzy Birds, a Burlesque Show by Burlesque Berlin and DJ Senay Güler.


House of Food

Why?
During the Berlin Food Week, the Kaufhaus Jahndorf transformed into a House of Food, were products could be discovered for a whole weekend, the latest food trends were tested and Berlin classics were served by over 70 manufacturers, international food brands and start ups. The exhibitors offered tastings and consultations, giving any curious customer advice and information. On site there were also various Thomas Henry products for refreshment or to try  in combination with Gin by Tanqueray, Vodka by Our/Berlin, Tequila by José Cuervo and Earl Grey Spirit by The Earl Spirit.
